Job summary

Ascension seeks a Respiratory Therapist in Pediatric Pulmonology at St. Vincent Hospital and Healthcare Center in Indianapolis, IN. This full-time day shift role involves evaluating and treating pediatric patients with respiratory needs, closely coordinating with the care team.

You will implement advanced respiratory therapies, educate families, and respond to emergencies, contributing to high-quality patient outcomes in a nonprofit health system that values growth and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 1 month (30 days) of hire date.
• Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed by Indiana Respiratory Care Committee.
• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist credentialed before hire date.
• Advanced Life Support preferred (AHA/ARC accepted).
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred (AHA/ARC accepted).
• Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop a plan of care based on diagnosis.
• Implement and monitor patient care plan and equipment. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition. Perform advanced respiratory care modalities.
• Evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcome.
• Educate the patient and family about the health condition and provide information about community support groups and other available programs.
• Respond to emergency resuscitation team code.
