Job summary

AltaPointe Health is seeking a licensed practical nurse (LPN) to work in a pediatric psychiatric setting in Mobile, Alabama. You will participate in admissions, provide direct nursing care, and monitor physical and mental status while administering medications and documenting findings.

Qualifications

• Current LPN license in Alabama.
• CPR certification and ability to provide emergency care.

Responsibilities

• Complete admissions processes and assist with personal care.
• Observe and document consumers’ physical and mental status; report side effects to RN/physician.
• Provide nursing care and direct behavioral staff as needed.
• Prepare and administer medications following Six Rights of medication administration.
• Assist with wound care and medical treatments as ordered.
• Conduct inventory of supplies and medications; place orders as needed.
• Collect specimens for diagnostics and provide medication education to consumers and families.
• Communicate observations to physicians and participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning.
• Participate in trainings and meetings; adhere to AltaPointe policies and procedures.
• Assist in crisis intervention and de-escalation; support safety protocols.
