Job summary

Qualifications

• Current LPN or RN licensure in Alabama with BLS certification.
• Knowledge of adult/geriatric and/or child/adolescent care to be attained within 6 months.
• Safe medication administration practices and crisis intervention knowledge.
• Ability to document clearly and work with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Assists with assessment processes including medical screening and vital signs.
• Administers medications following the Seven Rights of administration.
• Provides patient and family education on diseases and medications.
• Monitors for side effects and reports findings to physicians.
• Maintains nursing documentation, histories, treatments and changes.
• Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team on treatment plans.
• Supervises nursing staff and coordinates referrals and program tasks.
• Adheres to policies and participates in performance improvement activities.
