Qualifikationen
- Bachelor's degree required in a relevant field.
- Minimum of two years related experience or training.
- Master's of Science in Orthotics and Prosthetics (MSPO) required.
- Completion of an NCOPE certified residency program.
Aufgaben
- Examine, interview, and measure patients to determine appliance needs.
- Fit, test, and evaluate devices; adjust for proper fit and comfort.
- Instruct patients in use and care of orthoses/prostheses.
- Design orthopedic devices from physicians' prescriptions and measurements.
- Maintain patient records.
- Create plaster casts for device construction.
- Select materials and components based on design.
- Confer with physicians to formulate specs and prescriptions.
- Repair, rebuild, and modify orthopedic appliances.
