Job summary

AdventHealth Medical Group Pediatric Plastic Surgery in Orlando is seeking a surgical physician assistant or nurse practitioner to join our pediatric subspecialty team in facial plastic, maxillofacial & oral surgery. The role involves first assist in the OR and coordination with the surgical team in inpatient and outpatient settings.

The ideal candidate has strong surgical fundamentals, pediatric experience, and 1–2 years of OR experience, with Florida PA or APRN licensure in good standing.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies or Nursing.
• 1-2 years of surgical, first assist, and/or OR experience preferred.
• Florida PA or APRN license required; NCCPA/ANCC certification indicated.

Responsibilities

• Managing pediatric surgical patients and providing first assist support in the operating room.
• Collaborating with the supervising physician, pediatric surgery team, and clinical staff to deliver consistent care across inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Obtaining and documenting patient histories and physical examinations.
• Ordering and interpreting appropriate diagnostic studies, including laboratory tests, CT, MRI, and ultrasound.
• Monitoring patient progress and implementing care plans.
• Participating in daily inpatient rounds.
• Evaluating consultations in the emergency department and outpatient clinic.
• Performing bedside procedures with appropriate training and supervision.
