Job summary

Children’s Hospital of Michigan is seeking a Physical Therapist to provide care using heat, cold, electrical modalities, ultrasound, and exercise. You will evaluate motor/neurological function, create rehab plans, and guide families at discharge.

Supervisory components include mentoring staff and teaching in-services. Position requires Michigan PT license, a Bachelor's degree or PT program certification, and at least three years of clinical experience; a 60-point professional growth criterion

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy or certification from an accredited physical therapy program.
• Three years of clinical experience to acquire skills for independent patient treatment.
• Current license to practice as a Physical Therapist in the State of Michigan.
• Minimum of 60 points on the professional growth and development criteria.

Responsibilities

• Treat patients using standard physical therapy procedures and assist in rehabilitative exercise programs.
• Evaluate patients' motor and neurological capabilities and document findings.
• Develop home care programs for patients and provide family instruction during hospitalization and discharge.
• Provide staff mentoring and develop in-services; participate in interdisciplinary meetings.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy
