Qualifications

• Valid license and current NYSED registration as a Physical Therapist.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

• Collaborative and solution oriented, with ability to resolve conflicts.
• Well organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, especially Word and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Provides physical therapy services to assigned caseload in school settings per therapy goals.
• Develops and adjusts interventions to maximize student progress.
• Evaluates and documents student progress per organizational policies.
• Provides adaptive equipment and orthotics as appropriate and checks fit.
• Communicates with parents and staff about mobility, safety and program goals.
• Provides PT coverage beyond caseload as needed.
• Facilitates standing, walking and other mobility programs.
• Assesses mobility needs and updates annual therapy goals as needed.
• Assists with orthotics and durable medical equipment assessments.
• Trains classroom staff in transfers and equipment use.
• Completes documentation and notes for services rendered.
• Follows NYS DOH, Board of Education standards and other governing bodies.
• Adheres to department policies and attends supervision.
• May attend student field trips to ensure safety.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
