Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Pediatric Physical Therapist to join our pediatric therapy services. Under supervision of Therapy Leadership, you will perform objective assessments and develop comprehensive, individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients, and oversee rehabilitation staff in line with state practice acts.

Ideal candidates will have a DPT or similar degree, hold an active PT license, and be BLS certified.

Qualifications

• Must hold current/temporary Physical Therapy license in state of practice.
• BLS certification required and current.
• Education includes DPT or equivalent; advanced degrees preferred for pediatric therapy.

Responsibilities

• Perform objective assessments and develop comprehensive individualized treatment programs for patients.
• Provide direct supervision to patients and supervise rehabilitation staff in line with state practice acts.
• Ensure care aligns with Mercy mission and standards.

This position is pediatric therapy services.

Under the general supervision of Therapy Leadership and according to departmental policies and procedures regarding referral, standards of treatment, performs objective assessments, as well as comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients. Responsible for direct supervision to patients, indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians. General supervision of PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Position Details:

Education: Bachelor, Master of Science in Physical Therapy or Doctorate of Physical Therapy.

Licensure: Current/Temporary license of Physical Therapy in state of practice. Certifications: BLS certified. Required certifications must be current before assigned to care for patients independently.

Preferred Experience: Six months to one year experience is preferred kids for Rehabilitation Physical Therapist.

Physical Requirements:

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
