The role includes parent training, collaboration with staff, and ongoing communication to improve gross motor development, mobility, and equipment needs under First Steps guidelines.

Qualifications

• Education: A licensed registered Physical Therapist in the State of Indiana.
• Experience: One year of experience working with the pediatric population is preferred by not necessary.
• Job knowledge: Ability to communicate with other appropriate staff, supervisor, and agency personnel.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with children and families.
• Ability to provide developmental outcomes for each child and demonstrate activities and strategies to families and caregivers.
• Ability to work independently and use sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluation: The physical therapist may evaluate children on an individual basis and communicate results.
• Therapy: Conduct individual therapy to maintain or enhance skills and provide parent training.
• Communications: Keep daily progress notes, quarterly reports, and timesheets; participate in case conferences and meetings.
• General Responsibilities: Ensure health and safety of children and act as a resource for gross/fine motor skills and positioning.
