Job summary

Cincinnati Children’s is seeking a part-time Phlebotomy Technician to perform specimen collection and provide lab support in Green Township Labs. The role includes patient education and adherence to lab procedures in a pediatric-focused Clinical Laboratory.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, participate in ongoing training, and support projects while ensuring compassionate care for patients and families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of Phlebotomy or other Clinical Lab specimen collection experience OR completion of a Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant program.
• Preferred: Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform approved specimen collection procedures, point-of-care testing, education and support for patients and families, and assist in projects or research.
• Act as patient advocate; provide information on patients admitted, referred, transferred, or discharged; provide emotional support as needed; respond to requests with courtesy and care.
• Collaborate with others to achieve goals; adapt style to team; share knowledge and support team members.
• Maintain currency in the field through continuing education and mandatory trainings; apply new knowledge into work.
• Understand and comply with policies, guidelines, regulations, and accreditation standards; maintain a compliant and safe work environment.
