Job summary

Children's Hospital Colorado in Wheat Ridge is seeking a detail-oriented Phlebotomist/MA/EMT to collect blood and non-blood specimens for pediatric, adult and prenatal patients. Training will occur at the Anschutz campus in Aurora for 8–10 weeks.

You will identify patients accurately, ensure correct tests, prepare specimens, and maintain prompt communication with the care team while following regulatory guidelines. This role requires teamwork and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomist, MA or EMT certification or 6 months experience as Phlebotomist/MA/EMT required.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood samples by venipuncture, fingerstick or heel stick per age-specific guidelines.
• Ensure patient is correctly identified and tests ordered; resolve data-entry issues promptly.
• Prepare specimens for distribution and analysis per procedures.
• Respond promptly to patient/customer needs (deliveries, wait times, calls).
• Perform lab functions per regulatory guidelines and quality indicators.
• Manage reagent inventory and routine maintenance per procedures.
• Collect non-blood specimens (nasopharyngeal/throat swabs, buccal swabs, urine).
