Job summary

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to collect blood specimens and support laboratory operations within a pediatric setting.

You will work with laboratory information systems and coordinate with care teams to ensure accurate sample handling and timely processing. Requires high school diploma, formal phlebotomy training, and certification within 6 months of hire; strong communication with patients and families is essential.

Qualifications

• Formal phlebotomy training or Medical Assistant training required.
• nationally certified phlebotomist (ASCP, NHA, NPA) or equivalent with 6 months of hire.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Obtain blood specimens using venipuncture and capillary techniques.
• Verify orders and patient data in EMR; label and process specimens.
• Schedule check-in/out and manage lab supplies and equipment.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients and families.
