Job summary

Labcorp in Laredo, TX is seeking a Pediatric Phlebotomist to join our team. You will perform skilled blood collections and provide friendly, patient-centered service in a clinical setting.

You will collect specimens for a variety of tests, enter patient information accurately and timely, and support billing and administrative tasks. The role requires strong communication and the ability to work independently or in a team, with occasional travel to other sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years' phlebotomy experience in a clinical/hospital setting.
• Experience with pediatric to geriatric patient groups.

Responsibilities

LabCorp is seeking a Pediatric Phlebotomist to join our team in Laredo, TX (78041).

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm (additional hours may be requested as needed)

Job Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Process billing information and collect payments when required
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 or more years' phlebotomy experience working in a clinical / hospital environment
• 2 or more years' experience assisting all patient groups (pediatric - geriatric)
• Current or prior LabCorp experience

Additional Job Standards

• In lieu of work experience, a phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Able to work in a fast paced / high volume work environment
• Exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision

In this role you will provide exceptional customer service, perform skilled specimen collections and be the face of the company.
