Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team in Austin, TX. The role involves blood collection, specimen handling and processing, with a focus on accurate data entry and patient service.

You will work Monday through Friday 8:00am to 3:30pm with additional hours or Saturdays as needed. Eligible for a quarterly incentive bonus program based on performance metrics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years phlebotomy in a clinical/hospital setting preferred.
• 1+ years’ experience assisting diverse patient groups.
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training from an accredited agency required if no work experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all ages.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests and alcohol tests.
• Enter patient information accurately in the system.
• Process billing information and collect payments as needed.
• Prepare specimens for testing and maintain logs.

LabCorp is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team in Austin, TX (78731)

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 3:30pm (additional hours / rotating Saturdays will be requested as needed)

Job Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Process billing information and collect payments when required
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 or more years' phlebotomy experience working in a clinical / hospital environment
• 1 or more years' experience assisting all patient groups (pediatric - geriatric)
• Current or prior LabCorp experience

Additional Job Standards

• In lieu of work experience, a phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Able to work in a fast paced / high volume work environment
• Exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision

In this role you will provide exceptional customer service, perform skilled specimen collections and be the face of the company. In addition, you will be provided opportunities for continuous growth within the organization.
