Job summary

Advocate Aurora Health - Carolinas Medical Center - LCH Pharmacy in Port Charlotte, Florida, is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in medication preparation, distribution, and patient safety. This full-time role involves sterile and non-sterile compounding, 12-hour shifts, and a 7 on/7 off schedule.

You will assist with procurement, labeling, inventory, and third-party billing readiness, while ensuring regulatory compliance and patient privacy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certification as Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or ExCPT within 18 months of start date.
• Registration/licensure with state board of pharmacy in the employment state.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed pharmacist with preparation and distribution of medications.
• Select, label, and prepare medications, including hazardous drugs and controlled substances.
• Support medication distribution tasks and inventory control.
• Screen calls and route via proper telephone etiquette.
• Assist with pharmacy procurement, outdate checks, and waste documentation.
• Perform non-sterile compounding per USP standards; assist with sterile IV admixture where applicable.
