Job summary

Children's Minnesota is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Specialist to support the Pharmacy Department with specialized tasks, reporting to Pharmacists and Pharmacy leaders. Responsibilities include safe medication preparation under supervision, pharmacy record keeping, inventory control, and performing audits to ensure compliance.

The role requires Minnesota registration, CPhT within a year, and at least three years of pharmacy experience.

Qualifications

• Registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of Minnesota (required)
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) within 1 year of hire (required)
• Associate or higher college graduate degree, or foreign equivalent, or five years of experience in a pharmacy environment or healthcare industry (required)
• Three years working in a pharmacy environment or a combination of equivalent experience suitable for preparation of the individual to work within the specialized pharmacy service (required)
• Experience working within a pharmacy computer system or electronic health record (required)
• Leadership experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Advance the mission of the Pharmacy Department by providing a high-quality service resource via unique or specialized pharmacy tasks.
• Work in a partnership role with Pharmacists and Pharmacy leaders to focus support on mission critical areas.
• Carry out technical aspects of safe medication preparation under supervision of a Pharmacist or Specialist.
• Responsible for administrative duties such as pharmacy record keeping and inventory control in collaboration with a Pharmacist or Specialist.
• Conduct audits and analyses in assigned areas to ensure compliance and risk mitigation; findings reported to leadership.
• Staff in this position are comfortable with autonomy.
