Job summary

The Pharmacy Buyer at CHOC acts as the official purchasing agent for the Pharmacy Department, ensuring the optimal use of funds and that pharmaceutical products are available when needed. Ideal candidates have a minimum of three years as a Pharmacy Technician in acute or pediatric settings, ASHP-accredited training, and experience with Lawson or similar purchasing systems.

A high school diploma is required; an associate degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years as Pharmacy Technician in an acute care or pediatric hospital.
• ASHP accredited Pharmacy Technician Training program completed.
• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promote effective use of funds in acquiring pharmaceuticals and medical supplies.
• Ensure pharmaceutical products are available when needed.
• Work with the Pharmacy Department to optimize purchasing processes and supplier relations.
