Job summary

Phoenix Children's Hospital in Glendale is seeking a Pharmacy Intern for the Arrowhead Campus to gain hands-on pediatric hospital pharmacy experience under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.

The role supports continuity of care with a regular schedule including one 4-hour shift weekly, two 8-hour shifts every third weekend, and two holidays per year. Must be enrolled in the first or second year of a PharmD program with anticipated graduation in 2029 or 2030.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in the first or second professional year of a PharmD program with anticipated graduation in 2029 or 2030.

Responsibilities

• Preparing, dispensing, and delivering medications under supervision.
• Process medication orders and ensure correct dosing, route, and substitutions.
• Act as liaison between Pharmacy and medical/nursing staff on drug-therapy issues.
• Perform medication reconciliation and document history according to department guidelines.
• Initiate and process medication incident and adverse drug reaction reports as needed.
• Complete aseptic technique certification as required by the department.
• Participate in clinical teams and monitor patients for optimal outcomes.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as requested.
