Job summary

UChicago Medicine seeks a Health System Director of Clinical Perioperative and Procedural Operations to oversee Pediatric Operating Rooms at Comer Children’s Hospital and support organizations like Advocate. The role emphasizes LEAN improvements, cost control, and strategic financial direction, reporting to the Executive Director.

The candidate will lead cross-functional teams, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive staffing, budgeting, and capital planning to deliver high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• BSN required; Masters preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of clinical experience with 5 years of hospital management.
• RN licensure in Illinois or eligibility for licensure; IN licensure preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• Strong knowledge of expense reduction strategies and budgeting.
• Experience with OR operations and supply chain a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and direct clinical and support operations for Pediatric Operating Rooms.
• Lead LEAN redesign, workflow and logistics analysis, and process improvements.
• Oversee budgeting, capital planning, and financial performance for the pillar.
• Collaborate with medical staff on equipment, supplies, and patient care.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and monitor labor productivity metrics.
• Recruit, evaluate, and develop staff; manage staffing within contracts.
• Drive cost reductions, revenue enhancement, and operational efficacy.
• Partner with executive leadership to align department goals with strategic plans.
