Job summary

Hospital for Special Care in New Britain, CT seeks a Patient Support Associate for the Pediatric Unit. The role focuses on safe, non-skilled therapeutic interventions, patient supervision, and support for treatment preparation in a busy pediatric setting.

Key duties include assisting with patient mobility, equipment setup, unit cleanliness, and basic clerical tasks. Strong English communication and independence are required; CPI/Safety Care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to read, write and understand directions in English.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
• Preferred: One year work experience with special needs population.
• Preferred: Basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Assist with safe and appropriate non-skilled therapeutic interventions as assigned.
• Supervise patients to ensure safety and assist with mobility and transport.
• Prepare equipment and maintain clean unit areas and treatment areas.
• Perform clerical duties in the staffing office as assigned.
• Document tasks accurately and timely using appropriate formats.
• Order and organize patient equipment and supplies as directed.
