Qualifications

• Ability to work independently.
• Read, write and understand directions in English.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
• Prefer: One year work experience with special needs population.
• Prefer: Basic computer knowledge.
• Prefer: CPI or Safety Care.

Responsibilities

• Assist in lifting, transporting, turning, guarding and overall patient handling using proper body mechanics.
• Observe and assist patients under direction of licensed nurse.
• Demonstrate competency with patient-related equipment as directed.
• Observe and report changes in patient condition to the team.
• Provide setup and support during mealtimes.
• Maintain unit cleanliness and orderliness.
• Document tasks accurately and promptly using appropriate formats.
• Order patient equipment and supplies as directed.
• Obtain, organize and clean equipment and supplies as directed.
• Monitor stock and maintain neat storage of equipment on the unit.
• Set up and clean treatment areas.
• Perform miscellaneous clerical and staffing office duties.
• Prioritize tasks and seek supervisory guidance as needed.
