Job summary

Shriners Children’s – Portland is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse to join the PACU unit of the Surgical Services department. The RN will provide care during the pre- and post-operative phases and will lead care planning within the FOCUSED model, mentoring peers and supporting patient families.

The role requires RN licensure, BLS, and pediatric acute care experience; PEAR, PALS, and ACLS are preferred. Pay ranges reflect experience and departmental equity.

Qualifications

• RN license in state of practice.
• BLS certification required.
• PEAR, PALS and ACLS certifications expected.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• Minimum 2 years acute care hospital experience.
• Pediatric hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in the PACU during pre- and post-operative phases.
• Lead and coordinate care using the FOCUSED practice model.
• Mentor staff, communicate plans, and advocate for patients and families.
• Utilize evidence-based nursing knowledge to guide practice.
• Perform ongoing assessment, planning, and evaluation.
