Children’s National Hospital in Fairfax, VA seeks a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room to deliver post-anesthesia care and collaborate with surgical teams to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.

The role requires a BSN from an approved school of nursing and at least 2 years of PACU or equivalent critical care experience, with CPR, PALS, and DC RN licensure. CPAN or CPN are preferred certifications. Focus on evidence-based practice and teamwork.

Competenze

Mansioni

• Evaluate and manage patient's airway postoperatively.
• Perform manual intermittent positive pressure ventilation (IPPV).
• Monitor cardiopulmonary function, airway patency, and oxygen saturation.
• Provide prompt care to minimize emergence delirium; ensure safety.
• Evaluate and treat post-operative pain in a timely manner.
• Manage epidural administration of local anesthetics and opioids.
• Manage patients with neuraxial and peripheral nerve blocks.
• Monitor for analgesic-related adverse events and respond appropriately.
