Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and rehabilitate patients with communication and swallowing disorders across ages. You will document progress, support students, and assist with program development as needed.

The role involves implementing treatment plans, collaborating with families and clinicians, and ensuring safe, high-quality care consistent with Memorial Hermann standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Speech/Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Current license to practice SLP in Texas.
• ASHA certification preferred.
• Current BLS certification.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds; stand/walk frequently.

Responsibilities

• Assumes responsibility in the care of the patient.
• Performs complete, comprehensive evaluation of patients with a physician’s referral.
• Interprets evaluation findings accurately.
• Develops an written plan of care and goals; creates a comprehensive program.
• Implements a speech/language pathology treatment program.
• Reassesses patient status and adjusts goals and plan as needed.
• Communicates effectively with patient and family.
• Documents appropriately in the medical record.
• May serve as Clinical Instructor for Speech interns.
• Promotes safe, compassionate and efficient care; adheres to policies.
