Job summary

ChildServe in Iowa's pediatric outpatient clinic is seeking a nurse or medical assistant to support our Complex Medical and Pediatric Rehabilitation teams during visits. This PRN role involves rooming patients, taking vitals, documenting history, and assisting clinicians.

Qualifications

• RN license from the State of Iowa.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Knowledge of clinical terminology and care delivery systems.
• Able to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, obtain vitals, history and reason for care.
• Process telephone messages.
• Refill prescriptions according to procedures.
• Maintain patient records confidentially.
• Record patient and lab charges for billing.
• Clean and prep exam rooms between patients.
• Participate in multidisciplinary care team meetings.
• Assist Rehab and Complex Care teams within the clinic.
• Maintain accurate, timely records per policies.
• Communicate professionally with children, families, staff.
• Provide training to families and staff as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
