Job summary

Children’s Hospital Colorado is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacy operations under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. You will independently prepare medications for dispensing, assist with safety and quality initiatives, and help with inventory management and order processing.

The role involves interacting with patients, families, and healthcare staff, using hospital software to prepare meds, and ensuring accurate lot and expiration checks.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Colorado Pharmacy Technician (PHAT) Certification required or eligible.
• Certification through NABP such as PTCB or NHA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently prepares medication for dispensing/patient administration following hospital policies.
• Contributes to safety and quality improvement projects for the department.
• Assists with shipping medications, monthly clinical assessments, and ordering.
• Interacts with patients, families, providers, and staff including point of sale and insurance coordination.
• Manages inventory, handles outdated meds, performs cycle counts and restocks as needed.
• Performs medication preparation using pharmacy software with verification of lot/exp dates.
