Job summary

Children's Hospital Colorado is seeking a Senior Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacy operations under a licensed pharmacist. The role includes teaching pharmacy technicians and trainees, contributing to policy development, and participating in safety and quality projects.

Responsibilities include medication preparation, inventory management, and collaboration on process improvements while maintaining regulatory compliance and high standards of clinical care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year of pharmacy technician experience required.
• Inpatient setting preferred: PTCB/ASHP Sterile Compounding Tech cert within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Independently prepares medications for dispensing and patient administration per hospital policies.
• Assist with safety and quality improvement projects in the department.
• Develops and trains staff, interns, and students in pharmacy procedures and policies.
• Assist with shipping medications, monthly clinical assessments, and ordering medications.
• Interact with patients, families, providers, and staff including benefit investigations and insurance coordination.
