Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days (AHA)
• Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) - IDFPR
• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates ability to perform patient transfers with assistance as needed from bed, chair and floor.
• Uses safe body mechanics to reduce risk of injury to self, staff and patients.
• Designs an appropriate plan of care that integrates goals, treatment, outcomes, and discharge plan.
• Adjusts care based on patient response and available evidence.
• Educates patients, family, caregivers, students, and other health care providers.
• Evaluates clinical findings to determine OT diagnoses and outcomes of care.
• Performs examinations and selects appropriate assessment methods.
• Screens patients to determine the need for further therapy services.
• Uses support personnel according to legal and ethical guidelines.
• Monitors care delivered by support personnel and provides feedback.
• Documents evaluations and plans of care in the EMR.
• Completes annual education for HIP and Knee Replacement program (if applicable).
• Evaluates impairments related to upper extremity function and establishes a care plan.
