Job summary

QSAC, a New York City and Long Island based nonprofit, seeks a dedicated PT Occupational Therapist to work with children and young adults at the Whitestone Day School. The OT will implement IEP-goal driven plans and supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants while collaborating with the school team.

Ideal candidates will have NY OT licensure and experience with autism, plus 1–3 years in a related setting, contributing to active participation in self-care, work, leisure and play for students

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• Current New York State OT license required.
• Experience working with people with autism preferred.
• 1–3 years’ OT experience in a related setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct service according to a written treatment plan/IEP developed by the OT.
• Recommend modification of treatment approaches to reflect student needs.
• Develop appropriate plans for students being supported.
• Provide collaborative education and supervision to Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants.
• Communicate with team members, school personnel, and families.
• Maintain daily schedule including sites, students/classrooms, and activities/duties.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Maintain confidentiality, attendance, and flexibility with Supervisors and others.
