Job summary

School-Based Behavior Consultation (SBBC) is seeking an Assistant Occupational Therapist to provide pediatric OT services across settings, including clinic, school, and home visits. The role supports developmental goals for infants to young adults with autism and related conditions, working under supervision.

Responsibilities include assessments, treatment planning, family coaching, and collaboration with therapists and school staff.

Qualifications

• Current state assistant occupational therapist license is required.
• Minimum of one year of recent work experience as an occupational therapist.
• Graduation from an occupational therapy program accredited by AMA/AOTA.
• Current CPR certification (BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR or CPR/AED).
• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (NBCOT) or Occupational Therapist Registered (NBCOT).
• NPI and Taxonomy code required at time of hire.
• Experience working with a variety of age groups birth-adulthood.
• Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates development and rehabilitation of clients by planning and administering medically prescribed occupational therapy.
• Meets client goals and provides quality care by assisting the OT in assessments, reporting findings, and recommending goals.
• Helps clients develop or regain physical or mental functioning or adjust to disabilities.
• Implements programs involving functional skills and activities of daily living.
• Promotes maximum independence by tailoring therapies to individual capacity and interests.
• Prepares clients for return to employment by coordinating with employers and retraining as needed.
• Evaluates therapy results and adjusts plans accordingly.
• Completes discharge planning with physicians, nurses, social workers, and others.
• Instructs clients and families in home exercise programs and assists with equipment needs.
• Documents care in client records and maintains confidentiality.
• Adheres to infection control and safety procedures.
