Job summary

The University of South Florida in Tampa seeks a certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) to support a pediatric Orthopedics surgeon in a busy academic practice. Requirements include a Master’s degree from an ARC-PA accredited program, current NCCPA certification, and eligibility for state PA licensure, DEA registration, and hospital credentialing.

Preferred two years of clinical Orthopedics experience, especially pediatric subspecialties.

Qualifications

• Master's degree from ARC-PA accredited PA program.
• Current NCCPA certification and eligibility for PA licensure.
• DEA registration and hospital credentialing eligibility.
• Current BLS certification (PALS preferred).
• 2+ years orthopedics experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete documentation in the EMR, manage clinic notes and discharge summaries.
• Coordinate prior authorizations, referrals, and surgical case scheduling.
• Respond to patient/family messages and prescription refill requests.
• Evaluate and manage pediatric musculoskeletal patients in outpatient clinic.
• Perform fracture reductions, casting, splinting, injections; assist in OR.
• Provide preop evals, patient/family education, and post-op care planning.
• Participate in rounds, on-call coverage, and multidisciplinary teams.
