Job summary

Nicklaushealth in Florida seeks an Orthopedic Physician Assistant to diagnose, treat, and manage pediatric musculoskeletal conditions. You will conduct patient evaluations, develop treatment plans, educate families, order tests, prescribe medications, and assist with rehabilitation and preventive care.

Reporting to the Orthopedic APP Manager, this role requires a Florida PA license, NCCPA board certification, AHA BLS, and a Master’s degree.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Contributes to Physician’s effectiveness by addressing patient care issues and implementing directives.
• Counsels and educates patients and families.
• Maintains therapeutic, ethical relationships with patients.
• Interprets diagnostic data and differentiates normal from abnormal findings.
• Initiates emergency resuscitation and adheres to safety protocols.
• Manages medical and surgical conditions; understands pharmacologic agents and adverse reactions.
• Orders or adjusts medications for in-hospital patients.
• Participates in quality improvement and research projects.
• Performs procedures as delineated in privileges.
• Prescribes non-controlled medications and documents care.
• Assesses health via history, exam, labs, radiology; updates medical records.
• Works with the care team; precepts APP students.
