Job summary

Nemours in Jacksonville is actively seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join the Orthopedics team, delivering clinic-based pediatric care. Responsibilities include history taking, physicals, diagnoses, treatments, and referrals in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

The role features surgical first assist duties, evening/night coverage for Wolfson ED, and 1-2 on-call shifts per month, with competitive base pay and benefits. Florida licensure and BLS required.

Qualifications

• Current certification as PA or Pediatric NP required.
• Florida PA or APRN licensure required upon hire.
• AC/PC Certification acceptable; Pediatric NP preferred for APN.
• BLS required upon hire.
• Healthcare/patient care experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with pediatrics/child health preferred.
• DEA registration active or required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides ambulatory and inpatient care including surgical first assist.
• Takes comprehensive or focused health histories and performs physical exams.
• Orders, performs, and interprets diagnostic tests.
• Plans and adjusts interventions including medications and treatments.
• Serves as surgical first assistant in the operating room.
• Covers evenings, nights, and 1-2 call shifts per month.
