Job summary

Shriners Children’s Hawaii is seeking a PRN Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to support pediatric orthopedics in outpatient and inpatient settings. The APP will evaluate acute injuries, perform assessments, develop treatment plans, and coordinate follow-up with surgeons and care teams, ensuring safe, family-centered care.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted NP/PA license in the state of practice.
• NCCPA certification or appropriate NP certification.
• Pediatric orthopedic or acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive, age-appropriate health assessments and exams.
• Formulate differential diagnoses and care plans with supervising physicians.
• Coordinate care for orthopedic, spinal, and neuromuscular patients.
• Order and interpret imaging, labs, and other tests within licensure.
• Prescribe medications and interventions per scope of practice.
• Educate patients and families; document in the EHR; participate in care conferences.
