Job summary

Shriners Children’s Chicago is seeking a Pediatric Orthopedic Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our multidisciplinary team on a full-time basis. The APP will deliver comprehensive outpatient care for pediatric orthopedic patients, collaborating closely with orthopedic surgeons to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Responsibilities include in-office visits, casting, bracing, fracture follow-up, and perioperative evaluations with some inpatient rounding.

Qualifications

• Master of Physician Assistant Studies or MSN/DNP depending on track.
• Current, unrestricted PA license in state of practice.
• NCCPA certification for PA track or ANCC/AANP certification for NP track.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive health assessments and formulate care plans with supervising physicians.
• Manage care for orthopedic, spinal, and neuromuscular pediatric patients.
• Perform pre/post-operative evaluations and assist in surgical cases when needed.
• Order and interpret imaging and lab tests; prescribe medications per protocol.
• Educate families and coordinate care across the team.
