Job summary

Children's Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking an Orthopedic Technician to provide support in clinical and surgical settings. Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in orthopedic cast technical skills.
• Must have a certification from a recognized school or program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance to all orthopedic service staff members.
• Performs patient intake process including height/weight and vital signs.
• Applies and maintains traction and other patient hardware systems.
• Works with patients and families on all aspects of care.
• Participates in maintaining a safe work environment.

Skills

Orthopedic cast technical skills

Familiarity with orthopedic instrumentation

Basic casting and splinting

Knowledge of basic aseptic technique
