Children's National Medical Center is seeking an Orthopedic Technician to provide specialized technical support to the Orthopedics division. The role involves assisting with casting, bracing, traction, and postoperative care in wards, clinics, and the OR. Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED and at least 2 years of experience in Orthopedics or related field.

Licenses such as N.A.O.T. and NBCOT certifications are expected, with strong safety and patient communication skills

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED (Required).
• Minimum Work Experience: 2 years experience in Orthopedics or related field (Required).
• Required Skills/Knowledge: lifting, office equipment use, communicating with patients and families from diverse backgrounds.

Responsabilités

• Assist with application and removal of basic and specialized bracing, plaster and fiberglass casts on wards, clinic and OR.
• Assist residents, nurses, and technologists with casting, splinting and traction techniques.
• Apply, modify and dismantle traction equipment and complete rounds as required.
• Complete service and supply charge forms.
