Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking an Orthopedic Cast Tech to join the Riley Pediatric Orthopedic team at Carmel. The Cast Tech works with surgeons and providers to ensure high-quality care for pediatric patients with musculoskeletal issues.

The role requires a high school diploma, BLS certification, and orientation upon hire. Orthopedic technician certification is preferred, with duties including casting, dressings, chart prep, vitals, and room turnover.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the AHA.
• Orthopedic technician certification preferred; orientation upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Function in a fast-paced environment, multitask and problem solve with providers.
• Collaborate with staff to ensure optimal patient care environment.
• Assist physicians and care team during examinations.
• Perform casting application and removal, dressings, sutures.
• Prepare clinical charts as needed and obtain patient vitals.
• Assist with room turnover and stocking supplies.
• Manage patient messages and inquiries.
