Job summary

Texas Children's is seeking a Surgical Technologist II to join our team. You will handle instruments, supplies, and equipment during surgical procedures, assisting physicians while delivering age-appropriate patient care under the circulating nurse.

The role requires completion of an educational program for surgical technologists, CST-SUR and NCCT certifications, and at least two years of experience in multiple surgical specialties. Respiratory fit testing may be required.

Qualifications

• Educational program completion for surgical technologists.
• CST-SUR (NBSTSA) certification required.
• NCCT - TECH Surgery certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care related duties in the OR.
• Prepares and assists with OR setup according to patient age and procedure.
• Maintains sterile technique and counts sponges, needles, and instruments accurately.
• Labels and handles specimens as required by the circulating nurse.
• Assists in medication handling within the sterile field and participates in safety practices.
