Job summary

Texas Children’s Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technologist II to assist in the operating room, handling instruments, supplies, and equipment for pediatric to adult procedures. You will support the surgeon and circulating RN, ensuring age-appropriate patient care and adherence to safety standards.

The role requires completion of an accredited surgical technology program and certification (CST-SUR and NCCT).

Qualifications

• Completed surgical technology program or equivalent military/public health service training.
• Certification requirements include CST-SUR and NCCT Tech certs.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care related duties.
• Prepares and assists with operating room setup according to patient age and procedure.
• Anticipates surgeon's needs and prepares supplies cost-effectively.
• Attends in-services and maintains professional development.
• Maintains count of sponges, needles, and instruments per policy.
• Assists in labeling and care of specimens.
• Handles medications within the sterile field safely.
• Prepares OR equipment and supplies for patient care.
• Demonstrates time management and cares for multiple age groups.
