Job summary

Texas Children's is seeking a Surgical Technologist II to join our OR team. You will prepare the operating room, assist the surgeon, and ensure proper handling of instruments, implants, and medications in an age-appropriate environment.

Requires formal surgical technology training, CST-SUR and NCCT certifications, and at least two years of OR experience across multiple specialties. Candidates must meet safety and patient-care standards in a fast-paced pediatric setting.

Qualifications

• Completion of an educational program for surgical technologists (may include military training)
• CST-SUR certification by NBSTSA and NCCT TECH certification
• Minimum 2 years' experience as a surgical technologist in two or more specialties

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon by preparing operating room and equipment
• Maintain sponge, needle, instrument counts accurately per policy
• Assist with patient care duties under the circulating nurse
• Handle specimens and medications safely within sterile field
• Participate in in-services and continuing education to maintain skills
• Support infection control and safety requirements in the OR
