Job summary

OU Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist I for the Pediatric OR. This entry-level role works under supervision to provide technical assistance in the operating room, with a schedule of four 10-hour shifts, rotating days and evenings.

Minimum qualifications include graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program and BLS certification; CST/TS-C may be preferred. The position offers growth within OU Health's surgical services.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• No experience required; hospital experience preferred.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required.
• CST or TS-C preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing operating room using physician’s preference cards.
• Maintain and update preference cards.
• Ensure adequate instruments and supplies for procedures.
• Scrub in and set up instruments prior to procedures.
• Prepare sterile field and maintain sterility during procedures.
• Deliver medications to the surgeon as needed.
• Assist with sponge, needle, and instrument counts.
• Support postoperative processing of instruments and equipment.
• Assist with patient transport as needed.
