Job summary

Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, Arizona is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist in the operating room. The role requires scrubbing on at least two surgical specialties, handling instruments, sutures and supplies, and supporting OR turnover with a strong emphasis on aseptic practices.

This full-time position offers a day shift with on-site work, and a 10k incentive for experienced OR scrub techs to join the team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and current Basic Life Support certification.
• Certified as a surgical technologist or 2–3 years of surgical technologist experience.
• Proficient to scrub on a minimum of two surgical specialties.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for surgical procedures by pulling instruments and supplies.
• Anticipates surgeon needs and passes instruments during surgery.
• Maintains aseptic technique and disposes of sharps and waste.
• Counts sharps, instruments and sponges; cleans and prepares instruments.
• Supports turnover between cases and stocks supplies for ORs.
• Participates in training and orientation of staff and students.
