Job summary

Connecticut Children’s is seeking a Staff Nurse for the Main Operating Room in Hartford, CT. On-site position with 24-hour accountability for perioperative patient care under supervision, reporting to the Nurse Manager.

Requires ASN/ADN (BSN within 3 years), 2 years perioperative experience, CT RN license, BLS/CPR; ACLS within 6 months; OR cert preferred. Strong communication and teamwork are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• ASN/ADN required at hire; BSN preferred with BSN within 3 years.
• Minimum of 2 years perioperative experience.
• Current CT RN licensure (or multi-state license) required.
• BLS/CPR required at hire; ACLS within six months.
• OR nursing certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct professional nursing care for defined patients throughout perioperative episode.
• Demonstrate clinical expertise and use nursing process to ensure safe patient care.
• Delegate duties to staff and participate in professional development.
• Complete documentation timely and communicate with health care team.
