Connecticut Children’s Medical Center is seeking an Ophthalmology Assistant in Farmington/Glastonbury to support ophthalmology care. You will test eye function, collect patient history, and help manage the patient flow before physicians see the patient.

Qualifications

• Certification for Ophthalmic Assistant preferred at time of hire or within 12 months.
• CPR (BLS) preferred at time of hire or within 1 month.
• Experience: No experience required.
• Preferred: 6 months ophthalmic assistant experience.

Responsibilities

• Obtain chief complaint, history, meds & allergies from patients and caregivers.
• Test eye functions and identify abnormalities with basic examinations.
• Coordinate patient flow and educate on eye drops and post-test care.
• Document all patient interactions in the EMR and manage front desk tasks as needed.
