Job summary

Connecticut Children’s seeks a part-time Medical Assistant to support administrative and clinical tasks in Hartford County clinics. Under supervision, you will assist with check-in/check-out, scheduling, room prep, documentation, and basic patient care as part of a dedicated pediatric team.

You will perform vital signs, specimen handling, data entry in the EHR, and follow departmental procedures. Satellite location travel may be required; teamwork and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; vocational MA training may substitute.
• Certified CMA or RMA preferred.
• BLS/CPR for Providers within 1 month of hire and maintained thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient check-in/check-out and scheduling.
• Prepare treatment rooms and assist with examinations.
• Perform initial intake: collect vitals, chief complaint, allergies, and other patient information.
• Perform daily QC for Point of Care testing and handle specimen collection per policy.
• Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of patient records in the EHR.
• Provide cross-coverage for clinical and administrative roles as needed.
• Travel to satellite locations may be required.
