Job summary
Children's National Medical Center seeks a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist to lead pharmaceutical care in a pediatric setting. The role emphasizes policy review, formulary oversight, education, and collaboration across hospital departments to optimize patient outcomes and regulatory readiness.
The successful candidate will provide guidance on drug use, participate in training programs, and contribute to research and scholarship while advancing collaborative practice agreements and patient safety
Qualifications
- Pharm.D. degree required.
- Pharmacist licensure in DC, MD, and VA as applicable.
- Board Certified Pharmacist (BPS) certification dependent on specialty and experience.
Responsibilities
- Review pharmacy and organizational policies related to drug use and regulatory readiness.
- Provide formulary management oversight and develop guidelines/protocols.
- Educate clinical staff and learners, including competency assessments.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize medication use and access.
- Oversee unit-based pharmacy operations and participate in accreditation activities.
