Job summary

The University of Maryland Medical System's Pediatrics Pharmacy team is seeking a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Pediatrics to provide direct patient care across locations. The role emphasizes collaborative care, education, and contribution to research and outcomes programs.

Under limited supervision, you will mentor residents and support rounds, helping advance safe, effective medication use for pediatric patients with opportunities for leadership and specialty growth.

Qualifications

• PharmD required unless U.S. school grad before 2003 or foreign equivalent.
• Maryland Pharmacist License required.
• 6 years of experience OR PGY-2 Residency / Fellowship OR 3 years + PGY-1 Residency OR 3 years + specialized certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide pharmaceutical care, verify medication orders, and oversee preparation, dispensing, and monitoring.
• Educate pharmacy and medical staff, nurses, allied health professionals, patients and caregivers; act as a preceptor.
• Manage care, quality, and costs by evaluating medication use to improve safety and efficiency.
• Oversee and direct the work of pharmacy staff and ensure service standards.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, training, committees, and strategic initiatives.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
