Job summary

Texas Children's Hospital is seeking a clinical pharmacy specialist to manage the medication use process and mentor pharmacists serving pediatric patients. The role includes direct patient care activities to optimize drug therapy and resolve medication use problems.

You will participate in rounds, monitor therapies, contribute to quality improvement, and educate staff, patients, and families while aligning with hospital guidelines and best practices.

Qualifications

• Pharm.D. or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy is required.
• Licensed Pharmacist in Texas or eligible for licensure in Texas.
• PGY1 ASHP-accredited residency required; PGY2 in Critical Care or Pediatrics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in multi-disciplinary rounds with medical specialty services.
• Oversee drug therapy for patients, including extracorporeal therapies; monitor outcomes.
• Develop and implement policies affecting areas of responsibility; promote formulary adherence.
• Educate parents, patients, caregivers, pharmacists, and residents; provide drug information to staff.
