Qualifications

• Pharm.D. required and licensure to practice pharmacy in DC (with possible cross-licensure in MD/VA depending on specialty).
• Experience in pediatric, specialized, academic, or clinical settings is required.
• Six years total experience may be required for those without a PGY2 residency.

Responsibilities

• Interpret medication orders, oversee packaging, labeling and distribution of medications.
• Input orders into pharmacy computer system for area of practice.
• Staff the pharmacy operation to maintain distribution skills.
• Assist in unit inspections and verify accreditation readiness.
• Review medication lists for duplications, omissions, dosing errors, drug interactions and allergies.
• Review and verify new medication orders for appropriate drug, dose, route and frequency.
• Assist nursing staff and providers with automated dispensing questions.

Education

Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.)

Pharmacy experience in pediatric/academic/clinical setting

PGY2 residency alternative experience
